Celtic Renewables is bio-technology company on a path to the global commercialisation of their patented technology that converts low value by-products, residues and wastes into high value green chemicals using an innovative adaptation of the century-old proven Acetone-Butanol-Ethanol (ABE) fermentation process.

**MAIN PURPOSE**

The main purpose of this role is to lead and deliver marketing and communications projects, campaigns, and activities to build and develop our brand and reputation. This is a key role within Celtic Renewables for a talented professional who will support engagement, performance and growth through creating, producing, distributing and evaluating internal and external marketing and communications.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

The Marketing and Communications Officer will:

- Execute the company’s annual marketing and communications plan aligned with the company strategy and objectives.
- Implement plans developed and agreed with the company’s appointed marketing consultants to develop our brand and communicate our value proposition.
- Ensure day-to-day management of social media channels.
- Maintain and develop website content.
- Develop and coordinate PR for positive media coverage.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact and effectiveness of activity through reporting and analysis.
- Produce material to support sales objectives.
- Design and prepare promotional materials.
- Copy writing, including writing compelling, engaging stories and case studies.
- Organise marketing events in line with the marketing calendar.
- Support the development and delivery of internal company communications through a newsletter and social media.
- Monitor social media platforms and other communications channels to identify trends and opportunities.
- Carry out market research and analysis to support the development of marketing activity.
- Advise and support colleagues on communications campaigns.
- Manage data and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- 2+ years experience within a marketing role
- Strong marketing and communications experience.
- Proven success in writing professional, web and marketing copy.
- Proven success of web, digital and social activity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent proof-reading skills.
- Excellent knowledge of marketing software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Word Press, Microsoft and Google Analytics.
- Well organised and eager to get tasks completed in a timely manner and to a high standard.
- Excellent understanding of social media platforms such as Facebook, Linkedin and Instagram.
- A demonstrable passion for the protection of the environment and the world's natural resources.
- Good understanding of the latest marketing trends, techniques and best practices.
- A degree in Marketing, Communications or similar with a good knowledge of environmental sustainability and climate impact.
- Alternatively, a degree related to Environmental Sustainability with a good knowledge of marketing and communications.

**THE ROLE**
- This is a full-time role of 35 hours per week.
- This role is eligible for hybrid working up to a maximum of 40% home working.
- This role will primarily be based at our Central Edinburgh office. Some attendance at our other company sites in Grangemouth and Sighthill, Edinburgh will be required as well as other occasional travel and overnight stays.

**Salary**: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
