NHS Lanarkshire are looking to recruit a part time (18hrs) Assistant Practitioner - Occupational Therapy, based at Hairmyres University Hospital within the Care of the Elderly department.

**Please note** this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.

The Assistant Practitioner will implement treatment programmes within hospital and community settings for individuals / groups of patients. You will undertake baseline assessments within clearly defined parameters for the Occupational Therapy service and use specialist technical and practical skills to deliver flexible, patient centred programmes.

**Knowledge, Training and/or Experience required to do the job**
- Formal qualification at HNC Level or equivalent level of experience in a health / education / social care environment plus short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area.
- Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
- Knowledge of the clinical speciality/area process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group.
- Effective listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Time management, planning and organisational skills.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.
- Ability to work individually or as part of a team
- Ability to learn and develop new skills and maintain a record of learning.
