Train Care Assistant

As part of the Transport UK Group, West Midlands Trains delivers around 1,300 train journeys a day, for more than 60 million passengers a year, across our two brands - West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway.
We are committed to delivering a safe and reliable train service, by investing in our fleet of trains, stations and employees. As part of this investment, we are looking to recruit a **Train Care Assistant / Mobile CET Operator **on a full-time, permanent basis, based in **Liverpool Lime Street**
You will operate the mobile CET and carry out the cleaning of trains that are travelling in service and/or at Stations to laid down VCI standards and as directed in accordance with the Principle Accountabilities. The success of the role is measured by results from National Passenger Surveys, Internal Audit, Mystery Shopper results and SQMS.
**What does the job involve?**
- Operate the mobile CET unit
- Use of specialist cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Take responsibility for materials and equipment provided to carry out tasks required.
- Complete audit sheets as required and report non-conformances to the Train Presentation Supervisor
- Disposal of rubbish removed from trains in the appropriate location
- Remove full bin liners and re-line on train bins when found full or nearly full
- Fit seat reservation labels where required by local arrangements
- Ensure compliance with processes and procedures in respect of the Environmental Management System to ISO14001 quality and safety systems
- Able to make decisions based on skills training and own initiative within predetermined programme of work
- Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act
- Ensure compliance with all safety responsibilities as detailed in the appropriate Safety Responsibility Statement and in accordance with training provided
- Ensure own safety and that of others at all times
- Comply with all appropriate rules and regulations
- Report all faults, unusual occurrences or hazards to Train Presentation Supervisor promptly
- Ensure that all accidents and incidents are correctly reported
- Ensure all uniform, name badge, safety shoes and personal protective equipment provided is worn as required
