You will be a key member of the gastrointestinal (GI) late effects of pelvic radiotherapy team and as an autonomous practitioner will be responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive service for managing late effects of pelvic radiotherapy. This post is open to all professionally registered colleagues across the disciplines.

You will act as an expert resource and senior clinical lead advising own and other specialist services across the region. You will provide leadership and consultancy as well as develop and implement best practice in the management of late G.I effects of radiotherapy in accordance with local and national policies.

You will be responsible for enabling radiotherapy late effect services to develop by providing expert practice, leadership, education and advising commissioners and clinical directors. You will enhance practice and research capability, providing professional clinical leadership to regional, national and international multidisciplinary research programmes.

This post is funded via Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Rosemere Cancer Centre, where You will be part of a large oncological team, and supported to develop this new service which makes such a difference to the patients quality of life. There is also an opportunity to be involved in a research project and a NIHR supported PhD studentship in their bowel toxicity project.

This is working in collaboration with Manchester University and The Christie Hospital. With further funding being secured to support this, it is likely that the fixed term contract will extend beyond the 12 months advertised.

Within the area of specialism, you will be responsible for the education and professional development for all disciplines of staff including specialist registrars/clinical fellows, contributing to the delivery of educational programmes, delivered by the organisation and outside providers as appropriate.
