To ensure that all patients are validated and placed on the waiting list in a timely way adhering to targets and that particular attention is given to urgency and procedure involved, ensuring patients are allocated appropriate clinical information and admission details. Also ensuring all procedures are coded correctly as per OPCS classification.
Manage and maintain waiting lists, liaising with consultants ensuring patients when selected, have adequate notice for pre-operative assessment and admission. Patients are prioritised according to Patient Treatment Lists, patients who have long waits following periods of suspension, target cancer pathway times and those Cancelled On The Day of operation. Patients will be allocated admission dates which ensure they do not breach National Wait Target Times. Any difficulty in achieving this will be reported up as soon as possible, in order that appropriate action can be taken to avoid a waiting list breach.

Our Board have recently agreed a new vision statement - “Outstanding Care Personally Delivered” - stating their ambition for our Trust to be among the best.

We also have a five year Integrated Improvement Plan setting out how we will achieve our strategic objectives, for patients, services, people and partners, the last recognising that our future success depends on our ability to ensure the Lincolnshire healthcare system is successful in achieving its ambition to help people live healthier lives and provide care closer to where people live.

Our latest CQC report increased our ratings for being effective and well-led from ‘Requires Improvement’ to ‘Good’. Our rating for caring remained as ‘Good’.

This is in recognition of the huge amount of work that our amazing staff have done to improve the quality of care for our patients in recent years.
