**PURPOSE OF THE ROLE**:

- As part of our on-going growth strategy, we are looking for an Associate to join the Scotland Infrastructure, Projects & Energy team and help service their ever-growing roster of major infrastructure, energy and utilities, transport, health, local authorise and central government clients.
- Addleshaw Goddard's infrastructure projects and energy practice is known for its quality and breadth of expertise. As one of most established multi-disciplinary teams of any law firm, we give clients the confidence they need to succeed.
- The team in Scotland has grown rapidly over the last 12 months and you will be working closely with the 6 partners, the wider Scottish associate team as well as the larger IPE team located across our UK and international offices.

**THE TEAM**:

- As one of most established multi-disciplinary teams of any law firm, we give clients the confidence they need to succeed. The team advise funds, developers, asset managers, operators, financial institutions, energy and utility companies and central and local government and NHS Trusts on innovative, complex projects, which are frequently in the headlines.
- The team places a high emphasis on their transactional expertise and are able to bring a commercial and business-orientated approach to a wide range of Infrastructure, Projects & Energy work.
- As this shows, we have a fantastic variety of work. It's not just big ticket, high pressure transactions though - we also do a whole range of smaller matters, providing a great arena for mid-level associates to gain experience in a supportive environment. There is an opportunity to specialise, or gain experience in, many different areas.

**WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE ROLE**:

- You will have the opportunity to advise private and public sector clients across all of our key sectors, as well as continuing to build on the expertise you will have developed to date in sectors you have a particular interest in.
- In essence you will advise on commercial contracts relating to energy, infrastructure, transport and many types of public/private sector transactions - a great grounding for junior-level lawyers on these hugely relevant and dynamic topics.
- You will provide strategic commercial and procurement advice at all stages of procurement, and under supervision, will deliver public sector infrastructure.
- The role also offers outstanding career prospects within an expanding, dynamic and sociable team. Our market leading Associate development programme will help you map out key objectives and timescales for your career progression and provide you with a mentor and frequent check-ins.
- Working closely with existing clients to maintain and develop relationships, acting as a trusted advisor capable of providing timely and quality advice whilst managing expectations
- Working collaboratively as a cohesive team, to execute large-scale, high-value, client matters to the highest standard.

**KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE**:

- Have at least 1years PQE + experience within Infrastructure, Projects & Energy or from a Commercial Contracts background.
- Have enthusiasm, resilience, and ambition to find solutions to clients' legal challenges and requirements.
- Be experienced in engaging with internal and external stakeholders of all levels.
- Adopt a consultative and thorough approach to tasks.
- Maintain efficient diary and task management across a range matters, ensuring the accuracy and levels of client service expected within a high performing team.
- Be confident in drafting clear and legally effective
