Waste Efficiency are looking for someone to join our wonderful team on our customer site in Newport, South Wales.

We are responsible for looking after the waste and cleaning on site and require a Shift Supervisor to assist the Contract Manager in managing the morning and afternoon shifts on rotation. It's a fun, fast-paced and varied role, perfect for someone that enjoys motivating a team

Duties include:

- To be responsible and accountable for the Health and Safety of delegated W.E team on site and hold regular safety briefings with the team
- Ensure all Site Policies and Waste Efficiency polices are adhered to
- Hold team briefs with the team at the start of every shift, delegating tasks for the day
- Ensure all team members are wearing the correct PPE for the task they have been asked to do
- Delegate work tasks to team members, including tasks for yourself
- Ensure manning hours for specific tasks are worked out according to the standard procedure
- If there are any new tasks to be completed, ensure team members fully understand what is required and that they follow the correct SOP/ Risk Assessment
- Make sure the team stay punctual and document any issues
- Ensure the team report any near misses or accidents
- Control stocking levels for consumables, waste disposal consumables. Report any issues to Contract Manager
- Shift hand over between Team Leaders
- Be responsible for creating and communicating safety briefs for the team
- Complete safety observations on team members, discuss any improvements with team member
- Liaising with Customer Team Leaders and production staff
- Support with the training of staff
- Keeping the moral and motivation of the team high, ensure you’re leading by example
- Covering for the Contract Manager during annual leave
- Monitoring and ordering the skip exchanges
- Documenting procedures (SOP’s)
- Taking on and leading projects
- Being involved with the recruitment process
- Attending monthly meetings, where you have time
