We are seeking a highly organized, experienced and motivated Independent Safety Assurance Specialists to join our proactive and innovative team.

The Independent Safety Assurance Specialists will be responsible for servicing the Safety and Assurance needs of our Clients primarily in the Railway Signalling arena but also Railway Infrastructure, Rolling Stock and associated industries. We have multiple vacancies covering systems and sub-systems.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for managing the documentation and providing support for Engineering Safety of Railway Signalling in accordance with EN50126 & the Common Safety Method for Risk Evaluation and Assessment Regulations (CSM-RA).
- Create Hazard Identification, assessing completeness of Haz ID, controls, linking to safety requirements, management of hazard/ controls transfer between subsystems and with client/other contractors such as Civils, OTP providers etc.
- Compile and review Technical Assessments, Compatibility Reports, Safety Validation and Operational Readiness Files at a system integration level and for subsystems such as Power Supply, SCADA, Track Switches, Conductor Rail System, Depot Equipment, Comms etc.
- An ability to manage the Safety and Assurance process and ensure all stakeholders are engaged and aware of their deliverables and responsibilities.
- Collaboration with both internal and external customers to deliver traceable and auditable evidence files is paramount.

Qualifications:

- Qualified to Degree level or HND in an Electrical/Mechanical Engineering discipline
- Plus a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Principal/Lead Engineer/Consultant within Rolling Stock Design, Safety & Assurance, Manufacture, Maintenance, Asset Management or other relevant within system engineering or software development.

**Skills**:

- Ability to assess and develop documentation deliverables and push through the internal and external stakeholders signoffs etc.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships both internally and with external stakeholders to ensure that their needs are understood.
- Collaborate with both internal and external customers to deliver traceable and auditable evidence files.

**Experience**:

- Significant evidence of experience within a number of key areas from:

- Compile and approve Technical Assessment, Compatibility, Safety Validation and Operational Readiness Files
- Conduct HAZID Workshops and record all hazards in a log/record with associated Safety Recommendations
- Undertaking Independent Safety Assessments
- Delivering Assessment Body services
- Experience of authorisation of multidisciplinary rail and rolling stock projects.
- Undertaking audits.
- Developing and implementing independent assurance strategies across programmes.
- Reviewing and providing feedback on Safety Cases, Safety Justification Reports and Hazard Records.
