**Transport Planner - Nelson Head Office - Competitive Annual Salary**

**About the role**

You will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day route planning and scheduling in order to meet the departmental objectives as well as working to continuously improving performance against set targets.

**What you will do**:
Logistics:

- Coordinate the day-to-day route planning and scheduling.
- Plan drivers and resources to meet work demands and key performance indicators.
- Assign and maximise the utilisation of drivers and vehicles on a daily basis.
- Plan all relevant customer deliveries & collections ensuring delivery windows are met.
- Maintain accurate records of routes, schedules, and delivery performance to assist in evaluating efficiency and identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure maximum load efficiency by coordinating multiple deliveries within a single route, minimizing empty miles and reducing fuel consumption.
- Liaise with Drivers, Chef Support and Business Development teams to ensure high-service delivery to all customers.
- Using company’s telematics software to monitor driver performance, provide feedback and support team with performance goals.

Compliance:

- Ensure scheduling compliance with current vehicle and tachograph legislation.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and hygiene legislation.
- Ensure compliance with the Working Time Directive legislation.

Health and Safety:

- Ensure all relevant Health & Safety and Food Safety compliance and legislation is adhered to.
- Operate in a safe manner at all times and in accordance with site standards.

**What you will need**:

- Previous experience route planning in a busy transport operation.
- Planning platform management and reporting experience.
- Experience of working with paperless deliveries.
- Competent in GPS and route manifests.
- Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office inc. Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
