**Regional Health and Safety Business Advisor**

**Homeworking - covering Essex and East of England**

**£40,056 - £42,165 per year**

**Plus Company car or car allowance of £7,304 per annum**

**35 hours per week**

We have an opportunity for a very experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our team, which has recently expanded. You will need previous housing, or care experience to be successful in the role. Sanctuary provide a generous and attractive benefits package, including company pension, 25 days annual leave and life assurance.

The team are responsible for providing health and safety advice to the Care Homes, Supported Living, Housing and Student Services within the Sanctuary portfolio. Currently visiting a selection of schemes and sites annually, there will be a need for frequent travel and on occasion overnight stays. You will act as lead and provide high quality health and safety advice to an allocated region, as well as undertaking in depth audits of sites within their region. This is a remote position. It is essential that you currently hold a minimum of NEBOSH certificate in Occupational H&S or equivalent Health and Safety qualification to apply.

**The role of Regional Health and Safety Business Advisor will include**:

- Undertaking Health and Safety Inspections at Care Homes, Supported Living Schemes, Student and Housing sites within the region
- Working collaboratively with business managers and staff to provide guidance, advice and support where required
- Working with the Health and Safety training team to ensure appropriate training and learning is delivered to the business areas
- Reviewing and monitoring accident incident reports and assisting with site investigations where required
- Creating and supporting risk assessments, safe systems of work and processes
- Liaising with the Senior Health and Safety Advisor on the progress of compliance actions, work streams, projects, risks and related issues
- Maintaining good relationships with key stakeholders across the business areas
- Supporting and assisting with the development of Health and Safety documentation e.g., policies and procedures help and forum development
- Reporting RIDDOR incidents to the HSE (reporting of injuries, diseases, and dangerous occurrences regulations)
- Promoting and supporting the role of Health and Safety Representatives, Co-coordinators, and Forums to ensure that all Sanctuary’s subsidiaries and business operations have adequate health and safety representation

**Skills and experiences**:

- Previous extensive and significant experience of undertaking a similar role in Housing and/or the Social Care Sector is Essential
- Experience of undertaking audits, inspections, and investigations
- NEBOSH certificate or equivalent Health and Safety qualification is essential
- Good interpersonal and customer care skills
- Working knowledge of identifying training needs and experience in delivering specialist H&S training
- Ability to support staff development in health and safety
- Confident using Microsoft packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Teams)
- This role will involve driving on company business. To drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
