Great opportunity to join a very well established and successful business - they have been going for over 60 years Therefore, the environment is totally secure. Due to continued expansion, they are recruiting for an Installation Assistant to join the business. You will be assisting the Installation Team Leader in all aspects of the Installation or Service or Repair of disability products.

**The main duties**:

- Driving long distances between the production facility in Cheshire and installation locations across the Southwest in a large transit van safely - twice weekly trips to Cheshire
- To assist in the installation, service and repair of the company’s products in a safe and competent manner
- To work away from home as requested to meet the needs of the business, occasionally at short notice
- Ensure adequate precautions are taken and maintained to safeguard the customer, jobholder, other employees, and the public from hazards connected with the work
- Complete all paperwork required by the company in an accurate & timely manner
- Carry out weekly maintenance checks of the company vehicles and report and defects as necessary
- Responsible for keeping the work areas clean and tidy at all times
- Maintain the vehicle stocks to ensure we retain the necessary equipment to complete all installations on time
- Comply with all company policies & procedures, particularly in regards to Health & Safety policies

**The Essential skills**:

- Basic understanding of working Mechanical and Electrical equipment
- Ability to use Power tools and PPE in a correct and safe manner
- MUST have flexibility around hours and overnight stays
- Driving large transit style vehicles - clean driving licence is desirable
- Awareness of the needs of persons with impairment
- Experience of working in people’s homes (an advantage)
- Enjoy some travelling and enjoy driving
- CCS card desirable
- Commitment - the role is permanent and we want someone who will commit long term
