London, United Kingdom Priory Central Services Full time

Priory is the leading independent provider of mental healthcare and adult social care in the UK.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Investigations Officer to join the team and support our growing business. Reporting to the Senior Investigations and Inquests Manager, the Senior Investigations Officer will be responsible for undertaking investigations into serious incidents, clusters of incidents and complaints and safeguarding matters which give rise to significant concern and external scrutiny.

**Senior Investigations Officer duties include but are not limited to**:

- Attend where necessary the scene of the most serious patient safety incidents and assist in the maintenance and gathering of evidence including assisting other agencies such as the police in their investigation.
- Communicate and engage with service users and their families/carers and staff in a positive and compassionate way in response to serious patient safety incidents and serious allegations as a means of helping to ensure transparency and candour. Maintain clear records of information gathered and contact with those affected and recognize when those affected require onward signposting to support services.

The post holder will assist in ensuring that:

- Investigations are undertaken in a detailed and timely manner.
- Wherever possible any lessons learnt from such investigations are shared across Priory to reduce the likelihood of further similar incidents.
- Priory operates in a candid and transparent manner with the post holder liaising with external parties for example family, regulators, Coroners and safeguarding boards as required.
- Priory introduces PSIRF effectively e.g. by assisting in training delivery and supervising site-based colleagues who are undertaking investigations of their own.

**What we would like from the Senior Investigations Officer**:

- Degree level qualification or equivalent.
- A clinical and or recordable professional qualification or relevant experience is required
- Significant experience in health and social care or similar large organisation for example the police force is
necessary.
- Experience of working within a large complex commercial organisation, with experience of managing serious patient
safety incidents, safeguarding, security services and designated projects.
- There is a requirement for the post holder to have a high standard of written and verbal communication and an attention to detail given the need to ensure clarity and certainty when undertaking investigations (e.g. interviewing colleagues), preparing reports and giving feedback to services and, where necessary, presenting evidence at Inquest.

**What we would like to give you**:

- 25 days annual leave + Bank Holidays + Birthday Day off
- Online discounts and cashback rewards
- SMART pension
- Technology scheme (qualifying period)
- Cycle to work scheme (qualifying period)
- Employee referral scheme
- Career pathways programme

**We reserve the right to close the vacancy ahead of the closing date if a successful applicant is appointed.
