Animal Trust Vets CIC is the only B-Corp, Community Interest Vet in the U.K. Our teams provide fair and affordable treatment to thousands of pets every year. We believe pet owners should be able to enjoy their four-legged friends without the burden of financial anxiety when their pet becomes ill.

Animal Trust was founded over 10 years ago and has 12 surgery locations in Cheshire, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Manchester, Shropshire, and North Wales. With an ambitious growth plan, we want our brand to be at the forefront of all pet owners and veterinary clinicians' minds.

What you’ll bring to the team

We’re seeking a Quality and Compliance Officer to ensure Animal Trust delivers safe and high-quality care. You will regularly visit our practices to perform assessments, ensure adherence to standards, and provide support. By building strong relationships between practice and central teams, you will facilitate communication and continuous improvement.

**Responsibilities**:

- Report to the Compliance manager. Work closely with stakeholders in our Facilities, Operations and Quality and Compliance teams.
- Audit Animal Trust practices against regulatory, professional, and company standards (e.g. H&S, medicines regulations, standard stock list) via site visits, remote assessments, and self-certification. It’s estimated you’ll visit all of our practices every 3-4 weeks.
- Develop action plans based on audit findings, prioritising efforts based on risk. Follow up on action points, build relationships to facilitate change, and escalate serious concerns.
- Coordinate and support improvement projects between central and practice teams. Remove any barriers to support the teams develop solutions and implement change.
- Update practices on regulatory changes and new initiatives being worked on or implemented.
- Deliver basic training required and ensure every practice has the appointed H&S members. Contribute to the development of central resources such as our Learning Management System (LMS).
- Assist with incidents, accidents, and near-miss investigations. Maintaining the accident database.
- Continuously improve auditing systems and processes.

Qualifications and Experience
- You’ve worked in a similar role e.g. SHEQ officer, ideally within a healthcare setting
- Qualified with NEBOSH certification (or equivalent). Alternatively, a qualified registered veterinary nurse (RVN) with strong experience in Health & Safety.
- Confidence in liaising with external regulatory authority bodies e.g. HSE, RCVS.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office. Interest in using software and technology.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic project management skills.
- Auditor qualification is desirable e.g. ISO9001 internal auditor.
- Located within reasonable reach of all Animal Trust practices.
- Full clean driving license.
