**Hours per week**:36
**Contract type**: Permanent
**Vetting requirements**: Enhanced DBS check
**Closing date**: 22nd March 2023
**Interview date**: 30th March 2023

**About Us**:
**Come and join an outstanding local authority Family Services, as we continue to embed and develop our systemic practice model, which supports good assessment and management of risk for our most vulnerable children and families.**

In Kensington and Chelsea, we work hard to put local people at the heart of service design and decision-making, working in partnership with them to provide quality services that are responsive, effective and efficient. We have a locality social work model where social workers work in small teams attending to referral and assessment, child in need, child protection all the way through to adoption.

We are committed to ensuring the most vulnerable families can access the support they need, when they need it. We want to intervene before children and young people need to enter care or are excluded from school. Clinical input is also used to support those young people already in care so we can reduce placement breakdown.

**The Role**:

- You will need to be:
- a qualified as a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist and registered with UKCP
- or in Year 4 (final year) completing your MSc in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy.

This role is for an embedded clinician that will work within one of our frontline locality social work teams in the north of the borough. The work demands a creative and flexible approach to support social workers to assess and manage risk through systemic interventions and clinical input with families and young people.

You will deliver those interventions in family homes, foster care placements and other community settings, either alongside social workers or on your own.

You will contribute to continued development and embedding of the RBKC systemic practice model by supporting innovative systemic practice and team learning culture. You will offer case consultation, joint assessments and interventions which contribute to decision making processes and social work plan.

The highest context is supporting the team to manage risk and creating change in the family and wider professional system

Please refer to the **Job Description** for more information

**About You**:
It is not essential to have a background in social work but you will need a good understanding of children’s social care and in particular how systemic practice is used to support the assessment and management of risk where contextual safeguarding and/or child protection is the highest context.

Empathic and calm with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you’ll be ready to work independently in a variety of settings, including family homes, and will be able to safely manage conflict and emotionally charged situations.

In return, you can look forward to a competitive salary package which includes generous annual leave and an excellent high-quality local authority pension scheme.

**Application process**
