**The Role**:
NHS Lanarkshire Renal services are primarily based at University Hospital Monklands, and we have a replacement post for an Advanced Practitioner in Renal available. It is an exciting time to join the team, with recent consultant recruitment and planning for the Monklands Replacement Project. We have had Advanced Practitioners in Renal since 2020, based primarily in the outpatient dialysis units with the possibility for widening the scope of this role as services develop. We are looking for a dynamic individual to join the team and us in our future developments as a service.

The Advanced Practitioner will be expected to work autonomously and flexibly within the renal team and to liaise with other acute, community and primary care services as needed, during in and out of hours period, covering seven days including public holidays.

The Advanced Practitioner provides assessment, clinical care and management of both stable and acutely unwell patient and his/her family, making complex, autonomous decisions using advanced skills and knowledge, having overall responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the delivery of advanced care. Medical telehealth/telephone support will be available when required from an identified source.

**What we'll need you to bring**:

- Registered Nurse / AHP / Pharmacist with valid NMC/HCPC / GPHC Registration.
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced clinical practice and expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
- Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality.
- Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
- Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification.
- The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative.
- Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.

**It would be great if you also have**:

- Educated to or working towards MSc PgDip Qualification
- ALS Provider / Instructor
- Non-medical Prescriber
- Experience in delivering education / training
- Experience of working with critically ill / high acuity patients.
- Evidence of working at Charge Nurse / Senior Charge Nurse Level.
- Understanding of clinical management pathways
- Ability to demonstrate understanding of quality improvement / research and audit.
- Advanced Assessment skills.
- Evidence of practicing advanced clinical skills (NIV/ ECG interpretation/ABG etc) Ability to demonstrate evidence of working autonomously

This role will be based in within University Hospital Monklands.

The working pattern for this role is Rotational Monday - Sunday
