Bakers Basco was set up in 2006 by five of the UK’s leading plant bakers including Allied Bakeries, Fine Lady Bakeries, Frank Roberts & Sons, Hovis and Warburtons - representing more than 55% of the bakery market in the UK - to buy, manage and police the use of a standard basket for the delivery of bread to retailers and wholesalers. The company currently manages an equipment pool of approximately four million sturdy, reusable Omega Baskets and 500,000 dollies, which are part of the ‘circular economy’ - designed to last many years, with each piece of kit recycled potentially 400 times and the resulting raw plastic used to make more baskets before it reaches the end of its useful life.

**Role**

Reporting to the Assistant National Investigations Manager, the Investigation Officer will be responsible for investigating areas of loss of our equipment within the supply chain, within a designated geographical area, aimed at ensuring Omega equipment usage is being correctly recorded and that no abuse of Omega equipment is taking place.
- Conduct detailed usage audits of the members within the Basco scheme
- Conduct Operational audits of the members within the Basco scheme
- Investigation of poor equipment returns
- In-depth checking of dispatch and collection paperwork at Bakery sites
- Supply written audit reports
- Build up strong working relationships with key personnel at each customer/third party site
- Promote best practices in relation to the recording of collection and delivery documentation
- Highlight areas where improvements are necessary within the supply chain
- Identification and resolution of minor non-conformances
- Identification and escalation of major non-conformances
- Retail store visits - to determine correct use of Omega equipment
- Conduct unannounced visits to Bakeries, Recyclers and other premises that may be misusing Omega equipment
- Promote and deploy Tracking Technology as part of Investigations
- Complete written statements and, on occasion, attend court
- Complete dynamic risk assessments, understanding the importance of Health & Safety

**Requirements**:

- Previous investigations experience preferred.
- Highly self-motivated with a self-start approach.
- Keen eye for detail.
- Full UK (E.U) or equivalent driving licence.

**Qualifications/ Skills**:

- Competency in Microsoft products (MS Word, Excel)
- Good communication skills (written & verbal)
- Excellent organisational and planning skills

**Holidays**: 25 days per annum

**Location**: Flexible

**Hours**: 40 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

**Salary**: From £30,000.00 per year
