**Executive Assistant & Governance Co-ordinator**

Since 1944 the BMC has been the national body for climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers in England and Wales. The organisation has 85,000 members, over 50 staff and a nationwide network of volunteers. Through GB Climbing, we are also the National Governing Body for sport climbing and are at an exciting time as we develop the infrastructure of our elite performance programme and the inclusion of sport climbing as an Olympic sport confirmed until LA28.

**Job Outline**
Sitting within the HR & Office Support team, the Executive Assistant & Governance Co-ordinator will work closely with the BMC’s CEO and wider Senior Leadership Team, as well as provide administrative and logístical support to the Governance & Compliance Manager (who is also the BMC’s Company Secretary), and across the wider organisation and its subsidiaries. The post holder will organise Board meetings and assist with the co-ordination of meetings for the Members’ Council and the network of Local Area Meetings. The BMC is looking for somebody comfortable presenting ideas and learning new skills quickly, who can demonstrate an ability to work within a team environment.

- Provide executive assistance to the CEO and, with prior agreement, to the wider Senior Leadership Team, including diary management, organising domestic and international travel, co
- ordinating stakeholder meetings, and taking ownership for the co-ordination of high-level CEO Board Reports.
- Provide administrative support to the Governance & Compliance Manager, including organising the co-ordination of Board meetings and the production of annual governance reporting documents.
- Provide logístical and administrative support in the planning of governance events including General Meetings, Open Forums and Specialist Committee Reviews.
- Provide practical and administrative support for key volunteers within the BMC, specifically for the BMC President and Chair of the Board.
- Assist with meetings for Members’ Council and Local Areas, including ensuring papers are distributed in a timely fashion, arranging logistics, minuting meetings (where appropriate), and maintaining and overseeing the budget.
- Work with the Marketing & Communications team to support Local Area Volunteers in improving communication and increasing engagement in their area.
- Provide support with the administration process for Local Area Events.
- Support with GB Climbing appeals process.
- Any other such work the organisation may ask you to undertake from time to time.

The Governance & Compliance Manager shall be the line manager for this role and is directly answerable to the HR & Office Manager.
