Following the recent success of becoming accredited to Version 9 of the BRCGS food safety standard, Farmison & Co in Ripon is looking to grow its operational Technical Compliance team to support and develop the expansion of this growing business.

This is a key role within the business ensuring compliance and continuous improvements across Food Safety, Quality, compliance and Hygiene.

**You must have Food Industry manufacturing experience, preferably in the meat sector.**

As the Quality & Compliance lead you will be responsible for all aspects of food safety and quality including the further development, implementation and maintenance of the companies policies and procedures in line with BRCGS.

You will be responsible for the day to day operation of the technical & compliance agenda within operations and the management of the site based Hygiene team.

As the Quality & Compliance lead, you will be responsible for:

- driving through coaching and leadership, the skills set of the site hygiene team.
- Take the lead quality role across the operational areas of the facility, providing technical expertise and advice, direction, support and training to employees.
- Working collaboratively with the operation teams to ensure all aspects of the quality system, quality assurance, legal and customer requirements are understood, practical and fully operational in alignment with the BRCGS standard.
- Acting as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance/quality
- Ensuring that all customer and legal requirements in all aspects of product quality and labelling are being achieved by monitoring and initiating actions to resolve non-conformances of action
- Managing customer complaints and internal quality failures, investigating across a multi-disciplinary team, root cause analysis, customer communication, maintaining a complaints log and developing a corrective and preventative action system
- Maintaining controls and documented procedures, including managing information requests and audit completion (internal and external).
- Drive and support projects, production trials and initiatives to improve product quality, safety standards and operation efficiencies
- Develop and demonstrate strong product knowledge and understanding of the meat industry
- Drive quality KPIs, work towards achieving agreed targets and provide regular reports to the Head of Technical Compliance.
- Coordinate quality assurance effectively via the Daily Operational Review
- Manage and conduct GMP, housekeeping and hygiene audits
- Manage the site pest control programme
- Manage daily workflow and development of direct reports
- Identify opportunities for own personal growth.

**Salary**: From £25,000.00 per year
