Our client is a rapidly expanding multi-national stock list and distribution business with a global infrastructure of National, Regional Distribution Centres, coordinating with sub contract manufacturers in Asia and Middle East.

As part of their on going strategy to met the ever growing demand of their products, the operational costs are a key priority to maintain profitability and service delivery to meet the customers needs.

The Freight Procurement Specialist - Remote role is a newly created position which is to play a pivotal role with supporting the EMEA networks, bringing structure and process to some of the longest standing and large value supplier partners.

The Freight Procurement Specialist - Remote will primarily focus on Freight Forwarding, Carriage & Third Party Logistic partners services as well as support other general indirect purchasing needs.

This is a Remote working role, but will require you to visit sites in the UK, North West and West Yorkshire.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintenance & review of existing Contracts, Agreements and Terms
- Work with other stakeholders in establishing day to day context & ways of working (Buyers/Inbound teams/Local Operations/local business unit leads)
- Practical involvement in identifying alternative suppliers and benchmarking cost, services & capacity
- Process mapping with particular attention to ownership transfer
- Define reporting requirements and KPI’s
- Set up cadence for business review meetings and planning sessions

Requirement and skills
- A good knowledge of global freight and modern logistic practices
- Keep up to date with market trends and react swiftly to changing business requirements
- Respect & sensitivity for supplier partner & colleague relations
- Ability to see the wider impact and plan for consequence, contingency planning skills
- Negotiation skills
- Risk management skills
- Demonstrable experience in the category
- Results driven
- Strong communication skills, building work relationships (internal and external)
- Self-starter able to work on own initiative
- Planning, prioritising and organisational skills
- Attention to detail
- Desirable skills Verbal and written German language

What we offer:

- £50,000 - £60,000
