We have an opportunity for a Continuous Improvement (OBP) Coordinator to join our Operations team at Kara as part of Finsbury Food Group. Established in 1985, Kara offers a wide range of quality sweet and savoury bakery products, including both gourmet butter and vegan brioche buns, doughballs and teacakes. The Kara Bakery can bake over 1 million baps and burger buns every day.

A Continuous Improvement (OBP) Coordinator will report to the OBP Lead. This role’s purpose is to improve site profitability through enhanced products, processes and capability. Specific objectives will be detailed on an on-going basis with improvement and development targets, be involved with various departments on the site. Therefore, you must have the ability to work closely with multiple departments and external bodies on a day to day basis. You also must have strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels and be a confident decision maker.

**This is what you’ll actually do**

As the Continuous Improvement (OBP) Coordinator you will improve existing and develop new processes by understanding current processes and plant capabilities, you will make improvements and recommendations. As part of the role, you will manage and deliver KPI’s set by the Operations Manager ensuring completion within agreed timescales. You will implement real time process re-coding and control and help design, construct and deliver on CI projects and support and lead the business on a CI journey. You will help coach, mentor and support management and their teams on CI implementation and best practice. As Continuous Improvement Lead you will also control and improve profitability whilst maintaining and improving product quality.

- _Confident and assertive personality with a proactive solution focused approach to HSE and Sustainability_
- _Proactive approach, good attention to detail and conscientious to ensure all tasks are completed_
- _Fully computer literate with particular focus on Excel, PowerPoint and Word_
- _Desire and ability to drive change, flexible approach to work and to be able to work on own initiative_
- _Ability to lead cross functional teams_
- _Experience in bakery and knowledge of bread manufacturing and process_
- _Ability to work hands on with product and processes_
- _Use of 6-sigma/SPC techniques within process manufacturing_
- _Be focus detailed on equipment, people, process procedures and products_
- _Must be able to prioritise workload; react quickly to new challenges whilst not losing sight of actions which will be of a long-term benefit_
- _Must maintain awareness and communication of customer and company critical paths & gate stages for product launch throughout the business_
