The new Water, Land & Biodiversity Asset Management Teams aim to improve management of WLB assets by implementing an asset management system that provides the framework, systems and processes for a whole lifecycle approach to the management of our assets. Ensuring they are safe, effective and resilient and that our future investment requirements are fully understood.
Knowing the condition of our assets and having good quality information underpins our risk based approached to asset management. The information is used to help us plan our work and target our resources. Working in the Team your work may cover a range of tasks including:

- collating information on WLB assets outside on the ground,
- recording information on the asset management database
- carrying out a programme of visual inspection of the assets to establish their condition,
- identifying issues, liaising with colleagues to ensure works are identified to correct defects.
- Quality checking, processing and improving information in the asset management database.

Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents, or provide business continuity support during an incident. This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.
- The team- Reporting to WLB Asset Management Team Leader, you will work with a range of colleagues from asset management both in Area and National, along with colleagues from Hydrometry and Telemetry, Groundwater and Contaminated Land, Hydrology, Fisheries, Biodiversity and Geomorphology, to ensure information is accurate, and the risks and maintenance requirements are understood. You will also form part of a national community of practice for asset management.
- Experience/skills required- Experience in asset management, direct involvement in projects or in the delivery of asset maintenance work is an advantage but not essential. The ability to manage a varied workload is essential. Previous exposure to engineering projects is desirable.

You must be able to swim and be confident around water.
There will be occasional national travel and you will be required to travel to sites within Area therefore a full UK driving license is required.
