We are seeking an experienced Operations and Maintenance Supervisor to join our SSE Enterprise Utilities team. As an O&M Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of maintenance services at our energy centres across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all direct employees and sub-contractors are engaged, managed, and provide services under SSE's safety management system.
  • Effectively manage local customer contractual requirements, SSE policies, procedures, SHE objectives, and quality standards to ensure the adoption of safe working practices during maintenance and repair of the plant and throughout the area of responsibility.
  • Provide technical assistance to clients, contractors, and work colleagues within the sphere of operation and fulfill customer service requirements while meeting quality standards and SHE objectives.
  • Ensure that statutory and mandatory inspections are satisfactorily carried out, diligently documented, accurately stored, and maintained in line with the company's integrated management system to maintain ISO accreditation company standards.
  • Be accountable for the reporting of both planned and reactive maintenance activity as well as the progress on fundamental long-standing, design, and operational issues that require addressing by asset design and project teams on heating and cooling that are under your remit and control.
Requirements
  • Experience in managing service delivery to contractual service level agreements.
  • Mechanical/electrical/engineering experience in a similar environment with a comprehensive understanding of current industry practices and relevant legislation or extensive experience within a similar position.
  • Commercial and domestic heating engineering, operating, and maintaining energy centres, including industrial CHP, MTHW, LTHW boilers, gas, oil, biomass plant, absorption chillers/air-conditioning plant, HVAC systems, and associated distribution systems/equipment, and plant monitoring systems (BMS, PMS).
  • Served a recognized apprenticeship and be qualified to ND/City & Guilds/NVQ level 3 in mechanical/electrical/gas engineering discipline and ideally registered to the appropriate body as required for the role.
  • SMSTS or IOSH managing safety certification in site safety management (training can be provided).
