**Overview of project/role**

Develop and implement technical standards, processes and systems for Customer Operations scheduling.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Estimate, plan and organise and track progress of work in own team, and co-ordinate with peer teams, to meet specific delivery deadlines set by external programmes and processes
- Maintain awareness of current progress and planned work, and take this into account in developing effective plans for team to respond to ad-hoc or short-notice business requirements, major asset failures or incidents
- Provide assurance that products from own team members, or from peer teams as required, are free from defects and comply with specifications, processing, publication and despatch needs, corporate standards, scheduling principles and consistent best practice
- Authorise the submission of completed scheduling designs for approval, and have delegated approval authority as required
- Measure and report on production plans, team delivery and quality, and production performance
- Review the performance of products after their delivery and in use based on customer feedback on design, including contributing to post-implementation reviews of new duty schedules, rosters and timetables
- Maintain HR, IM, Procurement and Facilities issues for own team, and on behalf of peers when required.
- Attend Trains Council, ACAS or other Train staff negotiating activities, providing authoritative specialist advice on scheduling and frameworks to Line Operations
- Take decisions, and manage the Duty Schedules function
- Coach and develop staff within the team to ensure professional development and standardisation.
- Engage and influence stakeholders with regard to future train service specifications
- Assess scheduling impact of new operational procedures, rosters for Power Control, Trains Managers, Revenue Control & other teams within TfL Operations

**Skills, Knowledge & Experience**

**Knowledge**
- London Underground network, assets, services, organisation, business processes, working practices, staff framework agreements, operating rules and procedures, and procedures for engineering works and possessions
- Processes and standards for the development of new assets and systems and the capture of user requirements
- Principles of staff duty schedule design and compilation, including expert use and administration of compilation tools and systems
- Principles of timetable compilation
- Principles of SAP HR/Roster Administration system, and use of Roster Maintainer SAP role
- Utilisation rules for rolling stock and staff
- Knowledge of Trade Union agreements

**Skills**
- Interactions and dependencies between the above, both for their business effects and their influence on service design
- Coaching skills
- Use of bespoke scheduling systems
- Data analysis
- Planning and organising
- Data management

**Experience**
- Competence in staff schedule compiling to a level required by the compiling workload for the specific role.
- In scheduling or in work with an equivalent technical content, experience of, or exposure to, business specification and negotiation, technical requirements development, performance analysis, service design, schedule compilation, schedule production/delivery and post-implementation review. Exposure to at least three completed planning and implementation cycles of full staff schedules and rotas, and to at least two annual workload cycles of service design work or its equivalent.
- In a junior managerial role, experience of managing own workload and planning and organising tasks involving the work of others, both internal and external to Scheduling Services.
