A well-established children’s residential business based in Preston, are looking to recruit an experienced Finance Assistant/Business Support to join their team on a permanent and full time basis.

The role involves duties such as general bookkeeping, credit control, payroll and ad-hoc duties to support the head office team in managing a variety of services the company provides. This position would be ideal for someone with experience in a similar role wanting to join a friendly and enthusiastic team and happy to take on a varied role working within a small but dynamic business.

**Main Areas of Responsibility**:

- Recording and managing financial transactions.
- Processing actuals for clients care on relevant portals and posting remittances in a timely manner.
- All aspects of the debtor's ledger, including preparing and managing invoicing and credit control
- Weekly debt review meetings with the relevant offices and chasing all outstanding aged debt.
- Have experience in working with QuickBooks and managing the processes, invoicing and reconciliation.
- Providing in depth debt summary reporting for the Financial Controller and Directors and escalating issues promptly.
- Manage the expenses of all homes/ YPs and company receipts/expenditure for new projects.
- Process weekly and monthly payroll, deal with any queries promptly.
- Work alongside HR to process administration throughout the employee Lifecyle.
- All aspects of the creditor's ledger, including making payments, matching documents, and supplier statement reconciliation
- Ensuring all databases are kept up-to-date and general administration duties.
- Resolving queries on actuals/invoices with the relevant LA’s, managers.
- Answering the phone and dealing with queries.
- Any additional accounting duties required by the business.
- Experience and knowledge of trial balance and end of year accounts would also be advantageous for progression as the company evolves.
- Must be a team player willing to go above and beyond.
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within a similar relevant role.
- Must be a self-starter, be able to cope under pressure, and rise to challenges.
- Must be computer literate and must be able to prepare and use excel spreadsheets.
- Able to use own initiative and work autonomously, as well as part of a team.
- Have excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner.
- Must be reliable, trustworthy and be able to work confidentially.
- Must be hardworking and have the determination to get the job done.
- Have the ability to progress within the business as it grows to become Assistant Finance Manager.

**Compensation**:

- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays.
- Fully funded qualifications on offer for development and progression

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
