**The role**
Senior Media Officer RCN UK HQ (London) with hybrid working, 35 hours, fixed term contract Salary range per annum: £52,839 to £59,028 including London weighting* Imagine being faced with a world of exciting possibilities that could ultimately enable you to support our members and help shape the health policies of the future. You will play a key role in raising the awareness of our campaigns and policy positions on matters of clinical and trade union issues on behalf of the UK’s nursing community - collaborating with experts in social media campaigning, marketing and corporate communications. You will manage an ongoing programme of media and reputation work and develop and sustain good working relationships with key media contacts. As Senior Media Officer, you will work closely with the Parliamentary and Policy teams, the regional and country communications managers and other departments to develop and implement a media and communications strategy to help deliver RCN objectives. As Senior Media Officer you will also play a leadership role, supporting Media Officers in the team. You will have an impressive background in media relations and a strong understanding of health policy and health issues. You will have experience of working with the media and managing successful relationships. You will be creative and forward thinking, able to spot opportunities to create agenda-setting news. The ability to show leadership is crucial and you will provide sound advice to colleagues across the organisation. You will be educated to degree level and previous experience of working for a membership organisation is desirable.

Our hybrid working model allows for up to 60% of your working time to be carried out from home. At least 40% of your working time will be spent working in person.
