**GOODS INCOMING INSPECTOR**

**Position Summary**:
To support logistics and quality objectives by carrying out Incoming Inspection on materials received and reporting non-conformities. Focusing on quick, accurate processing of materials to meet department KPIs and enable the team to supply material to Manufacturing, Customers and Dealers on-time. Complete receiving and picking activities where no goods incoming inspection is required and final inspection of boats as appropriate. Ensure that services are provided to the highest quality and in a timely manner to fulfil demand.

**Main Duties**:

- Inspection of incoming materials where required and recording of nonconformities in the relevant tools. Where non-conformities are found working with the Stores/Quality Manager to find solutions in a timely manner.
- Support final inspection of boats where needed during peak periods or staff shortages.
- Read and Interpret technical drawings to verify received components conform to our requirements.
- Liaise with the Quality department as and when required in fulfilment of deliverable targets, with the aim of constant improvement to documentation, processes, and components.
- Maintain open and regular communication with Procurement, Quality and Production Planning teams to ensure material supply is optimised and offline targets are attained by resolving Product non-conformities efficiently and effectively.
- Monitor the effectiveness of our incoming and outgoing (where applicable) quality processes and identify areas requiring improvement.
- Where required conduct continual improvement through coaching and mentoring of receiving staff to identify possible non-conformities and preventing them entering stock. Training of staff in new process techniques when necessary, engaging with third party specialists when required.
- Maintain logistics facility in a clean and tidy state, ensuring all non-conformities are labelled and quarantined in an organised location
- Complete receiving and stores activities as and when goods incoming inspection is not required.
- Ensure strict adherence to the company’s Health and Safety policy and operate in accordance with all other company policies and procedures. Ensure correct use and storage of PPE.
- Attendance of general meetings as required.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Previous experience in a similar quality role completing goods incoming inspection and using quality tools.
- Previous experience in logistics activities, specifically receiving and inventory.
- A good understanding of engineering drawings with a keen eye for detail.
- Able to work with a variety of products in a fast-moving environment and being to prioritise product needs.
- Good product knowledge to allow for quick problem-solving solutions.
- Understanding of Manufacturing and being able to provide high levels of service to our internal/external stakeholders.
