We are recruiting two SEO posts to the Higher Technical Education Programme Team. One post holder will join the Strategy team, supporting the programme to prioritise its activities to maximise impact, aligning and influencing the programme’s ambitions with other skills reforms programmes in the DfE and across government, and supporting with preparation for the next Spending Review. The other post holder will join the education provider team, supporting it to grow high quality Higher Technical Education provision, including Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs), at scale, to meet and drive increased demand.

**Job description**:
**Strategy team**
- Working across the programme to help teams prioritise their policy intervention so that the programme delivers maximum impact and increases learner enrolment.
- Influencing and aligning programme policy with skills reforms, such as T Levels, apprenticeships, skills bootcamps, and HE reform.
- Leading the programme’s contribution to the upcoming spending review.
- Supporting our work in building a business case for education provider funding to inform our bid for the Spending Review.

**Provider team**
- Leading on the evaluation of previous provider funds to understand what’s worked well and how we can improve our impact.
- Contributing to an initiative which funds education providers to grow Higher Technical provision.
- Supporting on the teams’ development of a Higher Technical Education strategy for education providers.

**Person specification**:
We are looking for a capable, self-motivated, and enthusiastic individual. The successful applicant will be able to understand the wider drivers for this work and work at pace to deliver results in complex environments. They will be able to work with teams across the DfE and with external stakeholders such as education providers. We also expect the post holder to be a clear and confident communicator who enjoys working on an agenda that is one of the Education Secretary’s priority skills mission.
