**The Role**

The Information Governance Team strives to ensure that the Council complies with its obligations under Data Protection Legislation, provides transparency to the public, and champions excellent records management across the organisation.

A rare opportunity has arisen for an Information Governance Officer to join the Council to support the IG Manager.

We are seeking a well organised and committed individual to support the IG Manager in maintaining information governance policies, procedures, processes, and controls and to provide day-to-day administration of routine information management and insolvency functions.

The post holder will manage requests for information made to the Council under the GDPR, DPA, FOIA, EIR and Insolvency in compliance with legislation, best practice, and internal Council policies and, amongst other things, will assist with supporting colleagues across the Council who act as DPA/FOIA contacts within their services with a view to ensuring that best practice is embedded within their teams.

This post is permanent. The hours of work for this position are 37 per week, working Monday to Friday. This post is based at Lancaster Town Hall.

The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post. Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am - 10:30pm.
