**The Post**
We wish recruit a Senior Lecturer in Healthcare Leadership and Management to enhance our Health Sciences undergraduate and post-graduate programmes and contribute specifically to the development of clinical leadership, management, and health administration education within the division. Recent developments across our programmes have seen an increased focus on healthcare leadership and management, with these being emphasised in the current NMC and HCPC educational standards. Developments in the BSc Professional Practice, MSc Public Health, MSc Early Years Practice and proposed enhancement of our MSc Advancing Practice have also placed leadership and management at their core. There has been considerable investment in the development of our healthcare programmes, and it is anticipated that there will be growth in the BSc PP and MScAP, particularly in the international market. Further to this, there is an increase in demand for leadership skills from our practice partners across healthcare settings.

The postholder will work closely with colleagues across the division and have leadership and line-management responsibility. This senior post is intended to maximise the provision of contemporary healthcare management knowledge and skills within the programmes and to build links between clinical practice, research and education across the faculty.

**Description of Duties** Senior Lecturer T&R**
- Engage in individual and collaborative research of international standard, which aligns to the strategic direction of the University, establish a distinctive programme of research and disseminate results through regular publication in high impact journals, books and conference proceedings
- Identify appropriate sources of funding, prepare research proposals for funding bodies and manage grants awarded
- Supervise research students as required, providing direction, support and guidance
- Design, teach and assess a range of teaching and learning, supervision and assessment activities across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including online/digital programmes where required
- Contribute to curriculum review and enhancement, in a manner that supports a research-led approach to student learning
- Mentor, support and advise colleagues, as appropriate, to assist intheir academic career developmentinteaching and learning and research
- Participate in the Faculty’s international engagement activities e.g. delivery of teaching, contribution to jointprogrammes andrecruitment of students
- Any other duties, commensurate with the grade of the post

**Senior Lecturer T&S**
- Design, deliver,assess and evaluate a range of teaching and learning, supervision and assessment activities across undergraduate, postgraduate including online/digital programmes where required
- Contribute to curriculum review and enhancement, in a manner that supports student learning and is underpinned by evidence based scholarly activity
- Enhance the quality of teaching provision and programme development, drawing on leading practices from the HE sector
- Develop and applynew, effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques and material, which create interest, understanding and enthusiasm amongst students
- Enhance the student experience and employability
- Contribute to the development of teachingand learning policy within the Faculty and more widely
- Engage in individual and collaborative pedagogical research and scholarly activity, which aligns to the strategic direction of the University, and disseminate results through regular publication in appropriate media
- Independently and in collaboration with colleagues, attract external funding/income to underpin high quality scholarship activity
- Contribute to the national debate about policy, methods and practice through publications, conference activity and roles that advance quality in the discipline
- Lead sustained impact in knowledge transfer, external engagement and/or enterprise that enhances the student experience and/or employability, and is of benefit to learning and teaching
- Exercise academic leadership across activities
- Participatein the Faculty’s international engagement activities as required e.g. delivering teaching, contributing to joint programmes and recruitment of students
- Lead, participate and develop networks and collaborations both internallyand externally to the Division/Faculty/University
- Evaluate own practice, continue to maintain professional practice and undertake continuous professional development appropriate to the role
- Any other duties, commensurate with the grade of the post
