An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full
- time IDVA to join our Coventry Office. You will be joining a multi service charity based in Coventry and 2 other locations. In return, we offer a competitive salary plus on call payments and a contributory pension scheme. Annual leave entitlement equivalent to 20 days plus bank holidays.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- To adhere to and follow Panahghar GDPR Confidentiality policy
- To accept referrals from the police and MARAC’s thorough the Helpline or directly into the IDVA service and undertake risk and needs and eligibility assessments according to Panahghar’s policy and procedures and identify actions.
- Manage a caseload (80-100 per year) ensuring each woman receives the appropriate service individual to her needs.
- To ensure the service is accessible to the diversity of black and minority ethnic of service users and that the IDVA service at Panahghar, recognizes the implications and impact of patriarchy and colonialization, and demonstrates an understanding of the impact of racism and discrimination and how complexities of community, familial and multiple perpetrator risk impacts in the lives of women and girls and some men within the context of domestic violence and abuse.
- To carry out regular risk assessment and safety planning with women and to promote women’s safety in multi-agency settings such as MARAC.
- To attend and contribute to MARAC’s (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference) and other multi agency safeguarding forums and arrangements with regards to service users.
- To work with Safeguarding Adults and Children protocols and policies procedures and refer to safeguarding children’s board and children & young people’s team as appropriate.
- To work within Panahghar’s BAME and Migrant staff team as well as part of the Partnership IDVA team and have effective two-way communication as to the delivery of the IDVA service.
- To Advocate for victims with agencies who can help in addressing the domestic violence and abuse and provide practical and language help to survivors and victims with regards to their cases through the criminal justice system.
- To recognize women and children’s individual needs, providing a short to medium term service to meet those needs and to work with women to identify their ‘support’ needs and incorporate these into women’s Individual Support Plans (ISP).
- To review each ISP on a regular basis and keep updated individual Support and Safety Plans and maintain confidential files including computerized case management system'.
- To translate and converse with users in their indigenous language and coach users to raise awareness of Life in the U.K (systems, cultures and laws etc).
- To support users to move out of crisis and high-risk independence and self-development.

About You
- You will be qualified as an IDVA or ISVA
- Other relevant qualification or equivalent experience in work with vulnerable people especially women and children

Additional requirements:

- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Be mobile and able to drive city wide at short notice (car driver with use of a vehicle).

This vacancy is open to women only (exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1).

Full-time hours: 37.5 per week
