**Investigator Compliance**

City of Wolverhampton Council are seeking to recruit an investigator to work within the taxi compliance team based at offices in Wolverhampton with responsibility for the Midlands area.

**Duties and responsibilities**
- Undertake investigations of complaints against taxi drivers, with the goal of bringing cases to a hearing or prosecution.
- Undertake and organise compliance operations in towns and cities across the country
- Provide advice to officers of other councils and local police on all licensing matters.
- Provide advice and assistance to compliance officers and apprentices.

**Qualifications, knowledge and experience**
- Educated to at least A level or equivalent standard, with three or more passes at A Levels (A*-C), HND, NVQ Level 3.
- Regulatory enforcement, including PACE interview skills.
- Significant relevant experience of regulation and compliance within Environmental Health and / or Trading Standards and Licensing or significant investigatory experience in a regulatory/compliance background (experience obtained in gaining qualification will count as relevant).

**Skills**

We are seeking a flexible and committed individual with an ability to manage high and competing workload, who has good communication and customer service skills. Competent with information technology systems is essential as is a high level of personal and professional motivation.

The post involves a shift pattern and regular night working which is currently Friday and Saturdays every other weekend, for which a 10% night time shift allowance is included.

**Our working arrangements**

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empowers employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocation where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
