You are a Scrum Master with at least five years’ experience in software delivery. You are a self-starter, organised, committed to agile best practices and will bring our teams on the journey to fully functioning scrum team. Key focus areas are experience of creating meaningful reporting (using Jira), identification, management and escalation of risks and issues and facilitating a demanding release cadence with all appropriate ceremonies.

**You will also need to be on-site in our Newcastle upon Tyne offices twice per week / eight days per month.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the delivery of high-quality solutions using the appropriate Agile methodology and bridge any gaps between the Product Owners/managers and the development/technical teams in line with the release schedule of each sprint.
- Implementing a robust Scrum practice
- Guide and coach the team in Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality outputs, ensuring the appropriate methodologies are followed as defined by the project
- Work closely with all team members to resolve conflicts and remove impediments/ blockers which prevents progress within each sprint. ensuring all is clearly communicated and understood within the team.
- Build a positive, trusting and safe environment within the team where problems can be raised openly and which facilitates continuous improvement, decision making and conflict resolution.

Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:

- A minimum of 5 years' experience in IT Software Delivery
- Demonstrable knowledge of an Agile framework or method (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) or understanding of software development lifecycle models as well as a good understanding of traditional project management principles and practices
- Strong stakeholder management skills including making technical information simple, accessible and insightful for technical and non-technical decision makers
- Strong experience of Scrum events e.g. Sprint Planning, Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews & Retrospectives
- Strong experience of Agile delivery to include User Stories, Sprints, TDD, BDD, Manual & Automated Testing, Planning
- Keen attention to detail with strong problem solving skills, coupled with an enquiring mind and the ability to learn quickly
- Ability to drive innovation and change across teams through collaborative working and effective influencing skills
- Strong communication, mentoring and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to connect with people
- Oversee and coordinate production issue troubleshooting, problem remediation, system restoration and document root cause analysis in a timely manner
- Working knowledge of Atlassian toolset (Jira/Confluence)
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Education to degree standard or equivalent experience (Computer Sciences discipline)
