**Company Description** At AECOM, we’re delivering a better world.**

We believe infrastructure creates opportunity for everyone. Whether it’s improving your commute, keeping the lights on, providing access to clean water or transforming skylines, our work helps people and communities thrive.

**Here, you will have freedom to grow in a world of opportunity.**

We will give you the flexibility you need to do your best work with hybrid work options. Whether you’re working from an AECOM office, remote location or at a client site, you will be working in a dynamic environment where your integrity, entrepreneurial spirit and pioneering mindset are championed.

You will help us foster a culture of equity, diversity and inclusion - a safe and respectful workplace, where we invite everyone to bring their whole selves to work using their unique talents, backgrounds and expertise to create transformational outcomes for our clients.

Are you an experienced, chartered engineer working within the flood and drainage sector? We have a role for you We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills and experience in management and technical delivery of flood protection, surface water drainage design, sustainable drainage engineering and coastal projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our established Water team in Scotland (offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow) where we are looking for people to lead the management and technical delivery of sustainable drainage, surface water and flood protection schemes and drive growth of this sector in the Glasgow office.

**What can we offer?**

You will have the opportunity to work with some of the UK water resources largest clients, managing the delivery of design projects with a focus on providing innovative and sustainable solutions delivered on collaborative platforms.

You’ll also get to work on some of the most high-profile projects for the AECOM’s UK & I Client base such as:

- All Scottish Local Authorities - via the Scotland Excel, AECOM has positions across all scales of delivery including major flood protection schemes, river restoration schemes, surface water management and coastal schemes.
- Via our Design Services Frameworks for AMP7 for various Water Companies in England & Wales, our portfolio of projects in the sustainable drainage sector is growing substantially.
- We work regionally and nationally, as well as having significant inputs to international projects, in the Middle East for example.

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Manage the project design and delivery cycle of water projects, taking delivery and budgetary decisions, identifying the need for design resources and specialist input across AECOM and our supply chain.
- Ensure the technical quality of project deliverables to our client through appointing the correct resources and ensuring compliance with QA procedures.
- Work closely with our other discipline teams nationwide to manage and coordinate internal multi-discipline design teams and interfaces with clients and other project delivery stakeholders.
- Take ownership of delivering projects to programme and budget from conception to handover, driving efficiency with responsibility for overall delivery to AECOM and our client. You will be supported and work alongside our operational and commercial teams.
- Have the ability to support the preparation of bids both in terms of technical and commercial submissions.
- Lead and contribute to proposals, from small scale discrete projects to supporting delivery of large-scale infrastructure and framework bids.
- Be part of our wider project management and technical practice networks, enabling you to build your knowledge, skills, and career with like-minded engineers globally.
- Support growth of our regional water resources team by bringing your individual strengths and passions. This position will be mainly based in our Glasgow office, and you will have the key role of growing our water resources team there.

**Qualifications**
- Chartered Engineer
- Have significant experience in managing the technical delivery of large-scale infrastructure (ideally flood prevention, sustainable drainage and coastal engineering) projects.
- Be experienced working for contractors in a design and build environment
- Have strong commercial, risk management and contractual skills and experience, e.g., NEC4.
- Have an understanding of programme planning software e.g., Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.

**Additional Information** HERE’S WHAT YOU WILL GET FROM US**

**Freedom to grow**

Freedom to grow is the name we’ve given to our new way of working at AECOM. It’s not defined by a policy or contract - quite the opposite
