The School of Law seeks to appoint an Executive Officer to support the effective running of the School through the provision of comprehensive administrative support.
We offer a supportive working environment, including flexibility over days and hours of work and hybrid working.

**JOB PURPOSE**
To support the effective running of the School through the provision of comprehensive administrative support, and in particular to the Head of School and Head of Administration in support of their School management responsibilities.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
1. Provide high-level and confidential administrative support to all School staff, and in particular to the Head of School and Head of Administration, handling issues with the appropriate degree of discretion. Keep School staff up to date with administrative policies and processes, and championing School and University administrative initiatives.
2. Service several of the School’s committees, including the Staff Meeting and the Strategy Committee and providing cover as and when required for the servicing of other School committees, and ensure the records of the committees are made available promptly to the relevant staff and students.
4. Liaise with offices of senior members of the University and their teams, including the Vice-Chancellor, the Provost, the Vice-Provost and Chair of the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Registrar, and the Academic Registrar, to organise high-level and complex meetings and to facilitate communications.
5. Act as a channel for the flow of high-level and sensitive information received internally or externally and be the point of liaison for communications to the Head of School, making executive judgements on a daily basis as to which matters to refer and to whom. Maintain records on actions required and proactively follow-up to ensure that deadlines are met.
6. Manage the annual planning process for the School calendar, including School team meetings, committees, conferences, away days, seminars, graduations, and other events, taking into account Faculty and University events relevant to School staff.
7. Maintain up to date records on the School Intranet, and elsewhere as appropriate, of the School calendar, committee membership, academic admin roles, role descriptions and lists of duties, and contact lists, and manage the School’s administrative records in accordance with GDPR and the Record Retention Policy.
8. Manage the security access for all physical space allocated to the School, assigning and rescinding card access, issuing keys, master-keys, and keycodes, and periodically changing the keycodes.
9. Manage the process of ordering and replacing furniture and fittings for all physical space allocated to the School.
10. Other ad hoc duties as required and as appropriate to the nature and level of the role.
