A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Bidvest Noonan for a Crime Prevention Casework Advisor who will work at our client’s premises in London - WC1E 6BT

**Main Purpose of Role**

This is a new, unique role that will be a central part of the support structure at UCL. This cross-institutional role provides crime prevention and personal safety advice, guidance and support to all students and staff at UCL.

**Principal Duties and Responsibilities**

Manage a caseload of crime and personal safety referrals from students and staff across the UCL community. Respond with 1-1 bespoke advice and assist staff and students who have concerns over their own or another’s personal safety e.g. harassment, domestic abuse, sexual assault, missing student/fear for welfare etc. Work in close partnership with Student Support and Wellbeing Team, Student Mediator, the Casework Team and Equality Diversity and Inclusion Teams, to provide holistic advice and support to students and staff requiring crime prevention and personal safety advice.

Build strong working relationshipswith Student Support and Wellbeing, the Student Mediator, the Casework Team and other support services at UCL who will refer student and staff cases to this role for crime prevention and personal safety advice and support.

Lead investigations into all reported crimes including thefts, harassment, hate crimes and other reported crimes on UCL Premises. Liaise with both the victims and the Police then provide comprehensive reports and statements in accordance with Security Instructions, Criminal Law, Employment Law and training. Manage the documenting/accountability and subsequent disposal of physical evidence, ensuring that such items are available for presentation at any UCL or legal hearing.

When requested by UCL Security Management undertake personal safety plans for individual staff members and departments and residences, providing recommendations on how to reduce localised crime/incidents.

Assist with Crime Prevention/Safety Awarenessevents such as:

- Give talks to new students about staying safe in and around campus,
- Help organise Security Bike Marking events,
- Liaising with key personnel on safety initiatives and advice like the firearms or weapons attackcampaign 'Run, Hide, Tell’
- Help to organise regular security advice stalls for all staff and students ensuring they are aware of their responsibility toward the protection of private property against loss, theft and damage
- Use available communication channels, social media and associated UCL websites to give UCL personnel news and advice of crime and safety issues

Conduct research on occasions where high profile visitors come to UCL e.g**. **VIPs, controversial speakers, etc.

Advise key people at UCL on effective criminal investigation techniques and customer service skills to ensure all victims receive the same level of professional service should they become a victim of crime.

Work in partnership with local community safety partnerships as well as our neighbours and Police contacts including:

- Be our liaison with Police University Liaison Officers, Safer Neighbourhood Reps and other Police groups.
- Develop relationship with our neighbours e.g. Wellcome, UCLH, LUPC and ensure information sharing is developed for the benefit of all.
- Develop relationships with other University’s Crime Prevention leads to develop Best Practise.

Carry out in a professional and diligent manner any other duties properly assignable to the post.

**Salary**: £38,308.00-£46,155.00 per year
