**THE ROLE**:
Academic Services is one of the largest central services at the University and is core to its success. The Department is responsible for a diverse and wide-ranging set of critical administrative responsibilities and services across the institution, and these include: student record and course management systems, timetabling, admissions, student and programme administration, graduation and awards, external returns, UKVI student compliance, fees and funding.

An opportunity to work within CTU is available 22nd July 2024 - 17th January 2025 on a secondment basis. You are required to seek your line managers agreement before applying.

This is a great opportunity to learn about timetabling and how CTU operates. It is a busy time for CTU as we prepare for the release of the student timetables in late August for continuing students and early September for new students. During your time with us you will be helping to create individual student timetables, validating those timetables and checking room size reports. Once the timetables have been released, we will continue to maintain those timetables and make adjustments where necessary.

There is a period of restricted leave from 23rd September to 11th October owing to this being the start of term and there may be a requirement for some working at weekends. Please take this into consideration when applying. We offer hybrid working, though there will be a requirement for more time on campus whilst you are learning the role.

The post is a busy and demanding role that requires excellent organisational and communication skills, including the ability to build strong relationships within both academic departments and other professional/support services.

The post demands excellent IT skills as it requires extensive use of the CMIS software timetabling system, as well as spreadsheets and word processing. We’ll train you in the timetabling knowledge you need but we need people who are self-motivated, methodical and able to deliver to dead-lines.
