Position Title: Purchasing Co-Ordinator.

Supply Chain.

**Location**: United Kingdom, based in Burnley, Lancashire.

**Reports to**: Operations Manager.

**PURPOSE OF POSITION**:
To develop & manage a world class Procurement function that is responsible for ensuring all demands for products and services are met in an efficient and most cost-effective manner.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Health & Safety

Ensure that you follow any instructions or health, safety & environmental training provided and report any hazards, injuries or ill health that present a serious and imminent risk and inform our QHSE department about any shortcomings you identify within your health and safety arrangements.

The below is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Observe all legislative and internal Health & Safety and QA systems and directives.

**Vendor Management**:

- Obtaining best cost, lead times and payment terms from suppliers in line with Business targets.
- Risk Management, ensure Plan B alternate supply lines in place.
- Measure Quality, Cost & Service (On Time In Full Deliveries) against agreed targets.
- Benchmarking Suppliers against alternatives.
- Sourcing of suppliers for products or services.
- Expediting deliveries of products or services.

**Inventory Management**:

- Manage any consignment stock arrangements with suppliers.
- Maintain stock levels within budgeted targets.

**Communication**:

- Liaising with all other departments on stock / purchasing related issues.
- Provide timeline communication and updates between suppliers and internal customers.
- Maintenance of relevant databases.
- Providing information and reports for line manager and internal customers. (written and verbal)

**Lean Working**:

- Implementation of sustainable lean working practices in all areas.

**Measurement**:

- Develop Key Performance Indicators for all activities and eliminate all forms of waste.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
Education Required:

- Ideally qualified or working towards full CIPS certification.
- Minimum of 5 GCSE (including Mathematics and English Language).
- Engineering / Electrical qualifications an advantage but not essential.

**Work Experience Required**:

- Minimum of 3 years working within a purchasing environment ideally within an engineering environment. (preferred)
- Working knowledge of SAP preferable but training can/will be provided if necessary.
- A good solid engineering knowledge base gained by working in an Engineering environment.

**Skills & Knowledge Required**:

- Able to prioritise own workload and coordinate suppliers lead times and deliveries.
- Good overall commercial awareness.
- Knowledge of stock control procedures and computerized inventory systems.
- An understanding of the principles of LEAN.
- Knowledge of processing purchases and supply chain related issues.
- Experience of Word & Excel processes.
- Strong people and leadership skills.
- Driving license.
- Results Driven.
