An exciting new opportunity has arised for the role of an experienced Senior End User Computing (EUC) Product Specialist who will provide high quality, second and third line technical support for all End User Computing devices.

The role will deliver an enhanced technical support capability that takes ownership of the EUC service; furthermore, the successful applicant will be responsible for the design and implementation of effective technical solutions required by the business as well as identifying and driving continual service improvement roadmaps for supported products and services.

Main duties of the job

The role of EUC Senior Product Specialist will provide the expertise required for all EUC offerings used by Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. This role will act as the SME within the EUC function implementing the latest technologies, building new processes, and introducing further automation to improve our user experience and business productivity.

This post will be responsible for 3rd line escalation of incident and problem management, this is where your advanced knowledge in hardware and software will aid in timely resolutions for our staff. You will use your expertise, passion, and flair to deliver a user experience designed for a modern workplace.

Nottingham University Hospitals Digital Services comprises a multi-disciplinary team of professional staff concerned with providing a wide range of services and technologies to Nottingham University Trust and our community colleagues. These are covered under the following divisions, technical operations and strategy, information governance, service transition and clinical engagement.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Lead on an array of desktop products and services used within the organisation or cloud-based services making sure all policies and procedures are documented allowing the teams to undertake BAU provisioning and upgrades confidently and efficiently.

Ensure products are configured, tested, and deployed in line with the ‘purpose of use’ or ‘use case’ defined in the supporting business cases.

Responsible for device optimisation and leveraging costs allowing the business to improve and streamline their operational tasks.

Act as 3rd line for technical diagnostics and analysis to enable accurate troubleshooting improving resolution times and improving outcomes for the business.

Maintain good working relationships with internal teams who can help identify improvements within their disciplines which will help product improvement.

Responsible for demonstrations and presentations on new and existing products and prepare reports as required to differing audiences.

Identify single points of failure and weaknesses, suggesting ways in which they can be fully remediated

Ensure new and existing products align to best practices either via accredited management standards or via self-assessment or benchmarks (CIS). Undertaking annual reviews for evaluation may determine whether replacement is needed or not.

Lead on the EUC elements for all planned penetration testing and audits. Routinely undertake vulnerability assessments to determine if there have been marked improvements or an increase in vulnerabilities.

Be responsible for signing off all change requests that are required on the EUC products making sure service continuity is minimised and communicated effectively.

To support the EUC Manager and other key stakeholders with the planning and provisioning arrangements for any new products we need to procure.

Experience

Essential criteria
- Experienced in using software distribution solutions to provide consistent and efficient software deployments
- Demonstrable expertise in the products as per the person spec
- Has a clear understanding of information technology in a complex public sector organisation and has been involved in managing large scale critical incidents
- Experience of scripting, e.g., PowerShell, VBScript
- Experience in successfully meeting audit and regulation requirements.
