Cannock Chase Council and Stafford Borough Council are committed to achieving excellence in the processing of Housing Benefit and Local Council Tax Support claims together with the recovery of overpaid benefit, from their shared Benefits Service.

Previous experience of working in local authority benefits administration and working with IBS Housing Benefits and Council Tax Benefits Software would be desirable.

You should have verbal communication skills sufficient to be able to deal with face-to-face and telephone enquiries and deal efficiently and effectively with all forms of written communication. You should also have organisational skills sufficient to prioritise workloads to ensure tight deadlines are met.

You will need access to a suitable means of transport to enable home visiting and holding a full UK driving licence would be advantageous.

**The postholder will be required to undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard Check once in post which includes a Basic DBS Disclosure and enhanced identity checks.**
