We do this by maximising our assets to provide services and activities that support people to overcome the barriers they face and to take positive action on the issues that impact on their lives. Whether it be financial hardship, social isolation, unemployment, or other issues, we provide independent advice and support, wellbeing activities, and training and development opportunities that enable people to gain new skills, build confidence and establish social and community networks that create opportunity and improve lives.

The **Volunteer Retail Assistant** will focus on carrying out tasks in relation to the running of the pop-up charity shop, contributing to fundraising as per the description below:
We are looking for people who have a passion and want to give something back to their community. Birmingham Settlement has three charity shops in Sutton, Boldmere and Wylde Green run by volunteers and overseen by Shop Managers. The pop-up shop at the Sports and Community Centre is a new idea that we want to build on in the hope that it meets a need within the local community for residents to purchase items at mínimal cost.

Full training will be provided on all aspects of the role.

**The role will involve**:

- Sorting, steaming and pricing clothes, books & bric-a-brac.
- Receiving incoming donations.
- Serving customers.
- Arranging displays.
- Replenishing the shop floor.
- Assisting with stock generation.
- Promoting the Gift Aid scheme.
- Promoting the work and ethos of Birmingham Settlement.

**When?**

This role is flexible, minimum 3 hours per week. Looking for Tues & Weds 1-4pm, Thursday 10-1pm, 1-4pm Friday 10-1pm, 1-4pm.
