**About the role**

You will be working with students aged 5 to 11 years within this mixed mainstream foundational school. You will be working in classrooms of 6 students, with a class teacher/speech and language specialist and 2 Support Assistants. Students within the provisionwill have an EHCP statement of Autism and so may require support in areas of cognition, speech and language and social behaviours as well as sensory issues. A large amount of interaction with students on the spectrum is done using visual prompts i.e. PECSor alternative sign assisted language such as Makaton so experience using either/both is very desirable in applicants of this role. Your role will involve you assisting with class control, behaviour management, assisting with carrying out sensory activities,encouraging learning based play and aspects of personal care where required. This role will be full-time 8.30am-4pm Monday-Friday during term time.

This school is located in Hayes, Hillingdon and is an amazing Foundation School, servicing Nursery, Infant and Junior Departments. The school has an onsite additionally resourced provision for 12 students with an EHCP statement of Autism, in it's own separatebuilding to ensure students are getting focused support to help them make the most of their abilities within the mainstream school.
