**Role title: Dementia Meeting Centre Volunteer**

**Purpose of the role**

▪ To support meeting centre members with dementia and their carers to enjoy sessions

▪ To help develop a warm and friendly meeting centre community

**What you will be doing**

▪ Welcoming members
▪ Helping staff set up and carry out activities
▪ Offering a friendly face and listening ear
▪ Making and serving refreshments
▪ Supporting people on trips and at events
▪ Giving people information about other services
▪ Helping clear away after sessions

**Locations and times**

**_Nailsea_**

**Thursdays, 9:30am - 12:30pm or **12:30pm - 3:30pm**

Mizzymead Recreation Centre

Mizzymead Rise

Nailsea

BS48 2JJ

**Our expectations**

▪ You feel comfortable being with older people, some of whom have mild to moderate dementia

▪ You are willing to learn about dementia
▪ You will attend Alive’s dementia training and other relevant training
▪ You will let the Meeting Centre Manager know beforehand if you are not able to attend the session

▪ You agree to an enhanced DBS check

**Job Type**: Volunteer

**Salary**: Up to £0.01 per hour

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
