Job Introduction
We are looking for an organised and enthusiastic After School Care Leader who can provide a range of play-based activities for children aged 4 to 11 years old in our afterschool club at St Wystan’s School.

The appointee will be responsible for supervising pupils after school, meeting and greeting parents, providing a variety of engaging age-appropriate activities suitable for the children and setting up a range of snacks and food.

This role will suit an enthusiastic individual with a firm understanding of childcare, and a desire to engage in the wider life of the school. We are a warm family-oriented community with a strong emphasis upon the holistic needs of our children. We pride ourselves on knowing our children well and creating a personalised learning journey for each and every one of them.

This role is part-time, the hours are Monday-Friday 3.30pm - 6.30pm, term time only (36 weeks a year).

We have commitment to safeguarding the pupils in our school. Safer recruitment checks will be conducted. This post will involve regulated activity with children. Please note this means being responsible on a regular basis for teaching, supervising, training, instructing, and/or caring for children without supervision. Staff are expected to take responsibility for their own continuous professional development, including attending relevant training and CPD.

Main Responsibilities
- To be responsible for the setup of after school care in school, including a range of activities for all pupils;
- To deliver and set up a snack/light picnic style meal for all pupils and cater for their individual needs (including dietary requirements);
- To create and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful and stimulating environment;
- To engage all pupils during their time in after school club;
- To supervise children as they do homework;
- To promote high standards of behaviour and discipline;
- To promote actively strong and positive relationships with parents and carers, communicating with them at the end of the session;
Enthusiastic individual possessing drive, energy and commitment, have a presence which engenders confidence and respect from pupils, colleagues and parents.
- Proven ability to inspire pupils. - Ability to plan, prioritise and manage a varied workload.
- Team focused: shares knowledge and information with other members of staff to promote good practice.
- Focuses on what needs to be delivered: understands what is needed and responds promptly.
