Overview of a Finance Administrator:
Pertemps have an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council for a self-driven and motivated Finance Administrator to join an expanding team. The role of a Finance Administrator has a competitive pay rate of £ 16.86 per hour, increasing in line with Harrow Council Pay Scale increments. Other benefits include, accruing up to 28 days holiday per year (including Bank Holidays) and the opportunity to apply for any internal permanent roles within Harrow Council.

The Main Purpose of a Finance Administrator:
All the work is carried out in compliance with statutory and organisational requirements, including legislation on Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, Data Protection, the Council's Financial Regulations and Confidentiality Policy.
To liaise with colleagues to ensure that agreed new or changed systems and procedures are implemented within the team and to report issues of concern to the Manager.
To maintain a high standard of accuracy, efficiency, confidentiality and adhere to strict deadlines particularly end of year processes.
As a requisitioner on financial systems and responsible for maintaining accurate data/information relating to all financial processes (purchase orders/shopping carts), processing invoices and petty cash reconciliation.
Investigate and provide satisfactory solution in response to complex/sensitive client complaints/queries, utilising experience to make a judgement when cases require referral to a more senior manager.
Investigate and respond to queries, complaints and enquiries involving customer interaction around complex cases in high pressure service environments
Represent the service, as required, on relevant projects and undertake more in depth
To work within the required financial procedures that the Council access such as e financial systems
To be involved with resolving financial queries from internal/external suppliers, liaising with the Manager when necessary.

About you, the successful Finance Administrator will have:
Must have a clear understanding of the diverse nature of Harrow's communities and the implications for services delivered to residents and service users.
Ability to investigate and respond effectively to minor customer complaints, judging appropriately when to escalate an issue to the Team Leader.
Educated to GSE level or equivalent work experience, with minimum passes at grade C in English & Maths
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
