Eastbourne, United Kingdom Adecco Full time

We have an exciting opportunity for a Facilities Co-Ordinator to join Sussex Police at their Eastbourne Police Station.

This is a temporary role working Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm

The Facilities Co-ordinator is a key role within Estates & Facilities Department, supporting operational policing by providing officers with a safe, comfortable, effective working environment. This important customer facing role provides a variety of services from day-to-day activities such as minor maintenance, H&S auditing, administrative support and contractor management; to larger works including office relocations, site improvements and assisting with refurbishment projects.

Based at a Eastbourne Police Base, Hammonds Drive you will cover a diverse range of sites across the county supporting a variety of police departments often with individual needs and requirements. From a single office in a shared building to a multi building site; there is no such thing as a typical police station and you will support a number of buildings across a wide geographical area, as such a full driver's license is essential.

Resilient and self-motivated, you will be largely lone working, balancing your scheduled workload with often challenging reactive tasks that you encounter. Pride and a sense of ownership are important as you will be responsible for your assigned buildings, making them the best that they can be.

Being a publicly funded organisation ensuring best value is critical to our work.

As well as supporting operational policing you will focus on getting the best value you can, both from contracted services such as cleaning and groundskeeping, and making efficiencies & savings wherever possible.

Communication is key, building working relationships with Estates & Facilities colleagues, contractors and with stakeholders at your sites. You will learn to anticipate your customer's needs, ensuring they have the resources they need to do their own jobs effectively, and managing impactive works whilst allowing for often-contrary priorities is a vital part of the role.

Whilst you will be provided with role specific training you will need to be inquisitive as you will learn most from doing the job. Facilities is a constantly evolving industry, paired with the unique setting of working within the police there are always new challenges, new solutions to learn.

Skills & Experience

Previous experience of working in the facilities environment, with a desire to learn and undertake relevant training to expand knowledge and experience is essential, previous practical experience is preferred.
Full driving licence with the ability to pass a police driving assessment. The role will require you to drive a range of different vehicles.
