Responsibilities:

Our client, a leading professional services business throughout Yorkshire and the UK, is currently seeking a Part-Time Accounts Administrator to join their team.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the sales ledger, purchase ledger, petty cash, and bank reconciliation. Additionally, you will provide day-to-day administration support, including addressing customer and supplier queries.

Key Responsibilities:

Day-to-day management of the sales ledger, including opening post, entering customer cheques into the ledger, and filing remittance advices in date order.
Handling all accounts telephone queries.
Ensuring adherence to 30-day payment terms and following up with companies with overdue invoices.
Entering all bank entries into the accounting system using the correct nominal code.
Managing the purchase ledger by posting supplier invoices to the correct accounts, reconciling supplier accounts, and requesting copy invoices as needed.
Matching supplier invoices and credit notes with delivery notes and obtaining sign-off from the Operations Manager.
Controlling and balancing petty cash, maintaining accurate records in both the petty cash book and the accounting system.
Safeguarding the security of petty cash.
Managing bank statements and performing ongoing backups of the accounting system.
Assisting with filing and maintaining in-cup room files, including labelling and rotating files for destruction.
Answering phone queries related to the accounts department and providing coverage during lunch breaks.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar accounting role is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and numerical skills.
Proficiency in accounting software (Sage) and MS Office.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work well within a team and independently.
