About the role:

In this role, you’ll be an integral part of our SEN department, providing tailored support to students with ASD across various year groups. Collaboration with teachers and therapists to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behavioral interventions is key. Moreover, fostering strong relationships with parents and caregivers is paramount, as you’ll communicate regularly to ensure alignment between school and home environments for optimal student progress and well-being.

Application Requirements:

• Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Knowledge of effective strategies and interventions for supporting individuals with ASD
• Relevant qualifications or training in Special Education (Desirable)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with examples of building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting the unique needs of students with autism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies, ensuring that the unique needs of students with ASD are addressed effectively within the classroom environment.
• Support students in developing sensory regulation skills, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that accommodates sensory sensitivities and promotes positive engagement and participation in learning activities.
• Facilitate social skills development and peer interaction opportunities for students with ASD, providing guidance and encouragement to foster meaningful connections and friendships within the school community.
• Collect and maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior, regularly monitoring and evaluating interventions to assess effectiveness and make data-informed decisions to support the ongoing development of students with ASD.
