Job Title: Mechanical Project Engineer - Residential Build

Job Summary: The Mechanical Project Engineer will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of mechanical systems in residential construction projects. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure all mechanical aspects of the project meet required specifications, codes, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Design:

* Develop and review mechanical designs and layouts for residential buildings.

* Ensure designs comply with local building codes and standards.

* Coordinate with architects and other engineers to integrate mechanical systems.

Project Management:

* Create detailed project plans with timelines, budgets, and resources.

* Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary.

* Prepare and present regular project status reports.

Construction Oversight:

* Supervise the installation of HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.

* Conduct site visits to inspect work quality and adherence to designs.

* Resolve technical issues or design conflicts during construction.

Technical Support:

* Provide technical guidance to construction teams and subcontractors.

* Develop and implement testing procedures for systems.

* Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues post-installation.

Compliance and Safety:

* Ensure systems comply with safety standards and regulations.

* Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures.

* Maintain accurate records of project activities and compliance documentation.

Budget and Cost Control:

* Prepare cost estimates and budgets for mechanical components.

* Monitor expenditures to stay within budget constraints.

* Identify and implement cost-saving measures.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

* Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

* 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in residential construction.

* Proficient in CAD software and relevant engineering tools.

* Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems design.

* Excellent project management and organizational skills.

* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
