Seeking an Experienced Engineering Manager for a Manufacturing Company in Matlock
Our client, a leading manufacturer within their sector with a rich history spanning over half a century, is looking for an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager to lead their manufacturing operations based in the picturesque town of Matlock, United Kingdom.
As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that maintenance activities are carried out effectively while maintaining high levels of reliability and increasing OEE across all production lines. Key Responsibilities of Engineering Manager:
Maintenance & Reliability Management
In this role, you will be responsible for creating and implementing R&M schedules using LEAN principles to ensure the smooth running of all production lines. You will also oversee budgets and Capex projects related to equipment upgrades or replacement where necessary. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that the site is compliant with all relevant legislation and regulations.
People Management
As the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing teams ranging from engineers through technicians who operate on different shifts. You will provide technical leadership towards continuous improvement initiatives targeting safety; quality assurance standards whilst meeting productivity targets set by company policies. You will also be responsible for ensuring that all team members receive the appropriate training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Electrical Automation Skills
The ideal candidate should hold relevant qualifications such as HNC/HND/Degree level Electrical/Electronic/Control Systems/Mechanical discipline coupled with practical application knowledge gained working with and/or on PLC programming, control systems design implementation alongside fault finding/problem-solving abilities when dealing complex automation issues. You will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical automation systems are maintained to the highest standards and that any faults are quickly identified and rectified.
Qualifications & Experience Required for Engineering Manager Role:
To be considered for this role, you must have a HNC / HND / Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical / Electrical / Control System Engineering. You should have a minimum of 5 years' experience performing similar roles or responsibilities, and be knowledgeable about Continuous Improvement methodologies like Lean Six Sigma. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written English language proficiency, are essential.
