Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to join our client's dynamic team in the East Midlands. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for driving engineering excellence, productivity, and innovation across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Engineering Excellence
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize engineering operations, ensuring world-class standards in productivity, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale.
- Drive innovation and transformational change, combining technology and people processes to enhance efficiency and adaptability.
- Role model the company values, actively coaching and developing your team through robust management practices.
- Foster effective communication and create development opportunities that align with the company's strategic objectives.
- Establish robust workforce and succession plans, ensuring readiness for future challenges.
- Oversee health, safety, environment, quality, and reliability standards, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
- Support employees in achieving these standards through coaching, training, and resource allocation.
- Lead the Progressive Maintenance (PM) pillar, ensuring the continuous improvement of the factory's assets.
- Play a key role in site leadership, contributing to the overall strategic direction and success of the site.
- Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the brewery and broader business goals.
- Manage budgets, capital plans, and long-term planning to ensure the engineering department meets or exceeds annual targets.
Requirements
- Degree in Science or Engineering; Chartered Engineer status is required.
- Practical engineering qualifications or a time-served apprenticeship are highly valued.
- Senior leadership experience within a Head of Engineering role, with strong exposure to food/beverage manufacturing.
- Proven track record in building and leading high-performing teams.
- Expertise in coaching across all levels using the learn-do-teach principle.
- Extensive experience in implementing World Class Supply Chain processes in fast-moving consumer goods or chemical environments.
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing cost management.
